Christian travel guides

A former University of Manitoba professor is editing a series of guide books aimed at the Christian traveller. Irving Hexham, who now teaches religious studies at the University of Calgary, says the Canadian Christian travel guides fill an important niche in the North American market Zondervan Publishing House is introducing the first four books in the series, focusing on Italy, France, Germany and Great Britain.

The pocket-size guides sell for $25. "Christians and other religious travellers are handicapped when they visit Europe because traditional guidebooks pay scant attention to religious sites other than major cathedrals and the occasional graveyard," Hexham said.
