As time permits we plan to add various readings from Christian classics and the Bible. To begin, here are some short daily readings to encourage anyone taking a two week trip to Europe:

devotional writings from the Church Fathers and the Expositor's Quote of the WeekEach section of daily readings for travelers consists of five parts. First, there is a short thought from St. Augustine (354-430) taken from John E. Rotelle O.S.A's., excellent Augustine Day by Day, (New York, Catholic Book Publishing, 1986). Permission to use these passages has been sought, although I believe what I have used falls within a "fair use" policy. Second, there is a short passage from Martin Luther (1483-1546), third a pithy saying is taken from Thomas á Kempis (1380-1471), finally, I provide a reflection from the works of Anglican Bishop J. C. Ryle (1816-1900) using either his Holiness (18??) or Practical Religion (1900). These thoughts are followed by a Bible reading and reflection on it. In time I hope to add further thoughts from the Church Fathers, Wesley, and various other Christian writers.
